FAQ

Answers to the questions we get the most:

Ravenclaw. 🙃

We had some of the elements from last year (cemetery pieces, mostly). We have been actively working on our HP props nearly every day since early July, and actually did a few before that, during the Spring.  Putting it up, we try to get in done in 2 days, and taking it down in one, when weather cooperates.

Too much. LOL

Offsite storage, mostly. But it's going to be interesting finding a place for the train.

Retired, empty nesters, no grandkids yet. We did NOT do any significant decorating when our kids were in their busy years, and they remind us of this often.

We started with one big piece the year we moved here, to introduce ourselves, because we moved in during the fall. Then COVID hit, and we were bored. It's turned into a hobby we can do together. Fun for the kids around here, we hope, too.

Most is homemade in our "maker space." Inflatables were found online, as are anything clearly made of real plastic. Some smaller things were purchased too, mostly from Etsy.

The pirate skeletons asked to take a hiatus. Some of them really need some me-time. And it's been 5 years already, so time for a change.

Yes, we're aware. We chose the theme because it's family-friendly and Halloween-friendly. However, we have family members that are LGBT, and it is important to us to acknowledge the problem. We donate to LGBT charities, as well as others that support civil rights, and hope you will, too. It is really sad how the writer's social media interactions have hurt people, including her fans. Whenever we could, we made our own props or purchased from small business owners, instead.

These are the ones we thought we could do well this year.  Submit feedback for ideas of things to add in the future!
